Dancing with the Shadow
come as you are, dance as you're not
There is a language your body speaks that your mind has never learned.
Come dance it out.

Every week, an hour to let your body say what words can't.
This isn't performance. There's no choreography to learn and no mirror to check yourself in — just you, your body, and whatever wants to move through it.
You'll show up as you are — tired, tender, furious, numb — and leave having metabolised something you didn't have language for.

The practice
We dance toward what we usually dance away from.
Each session moves through the body first, the shadow second. We warm, we shake, we let the music find the parts of us we've been managing instead of feeling.
There's no wrong way to move, and no experience required — only a willingness to be witnessed, exactly as you are.
Who this is for
You don't need to know how to dance. You need to be ready to feel.
You've felt something stuck in your body for a while, and talking about it hasn't shifted it.
You're curious about shadow work, but you're not ready for — or not looking for — one-to-one depth work yet.
You've danced your whole life, or never once. Both are equally welcome here.
You're craving a regular practice and a room of women, rather than another solo habit you'll abandon by week three.
You sense there's more available to you than your current life is asking of you, and you want a weekly nudge toward it.

No spectators, no watching from the edges — only women, moving, together.
What you leave with
A body that's had its say
Whatever you carried into the hour, moved through instead of held in.
A weekly rhythm to return to
Twelve weeks of consistency, not a single hit of catharsis that fades by Wednesday.
The recording of every session
Dance again in your own lounge room, on your own time, whenever the week calls for it.
A circle who's seen you unguarded
The WhatsApp group carries the room with you between gatherings.
A felt sense of what's next
For some, this is enough. For others, it's the doorway into Spiritual Direction or the Wahine Haerenga.

Bare feet, borrowed rugs, whatever floor you've got — this is a practice that travels.

Who holds this
Kia West
Long before I called it shadow work, I called it survival. Movement is my first medicine — it's how I found my way back to myself, long before I had words for what I was doing.
I've held rooms like this for years, in person, watching women rediscover parts of themselves they'd stopped visiting. This is that same room, now open wherever you are.
